You can program your socket mobile S700 Bluetooth barcode scanner to stay connected to your ipad by scanning the correct barcode.

(b)  Print page 6 from the manual

(c)  Scan the barcode to set the timeout to 4hours, 8 hours, or stay on all of the time (never disconnect)

Be aware that this will decrease the time needed before you have to charge your scanner.
